July 2014 Newsleter
Hello Anglers! Well, we are half-way through the year now and our club is still growing! The MMBC had our July 1st meeting at our usual stomping ground, the IHOP located near Duval & 183. Jeff and Elizabeth Anderson came to check out the club and decided to join the crazy train! We are very excited to have you both! We also had a special guest, Mr. Ken Thornton from Thornton Capital Strategies. Ken has a vast knowledge when it comes to retirement funds and investments so if you need advice and help setting up your investment accounts or retirement funds call Ken at 512-891-7526 or shoot him an e-mail at kthornton@tcsllc.biz. Mrs. President, Brenda Davis started off the meeting by wishing a very Happy Anniversary to Bryan and Robyn Simpson who will be celebrating on the 18th of this month! Congrats love birds! We also wished Miss Lilly Clark a happy 16th Birthday coming up on the 27th!
Moving on to the rest of the meeting.. Our beloved Cliff Davis “Mr. Treasurer” gave the monthly money report! While we are on that subject, a GREAT BIG HUGE GINORMOUS THANK YOU goes out to Steve and Laurie Wilson for their generous TABC Sponsorship donation! Let’s see if we can work on getting a few more donations. Up next…..
Tournament Director Business: Pete Trevino, who by the way is doing a great job, announced the winners of the Lake Buchanan Tournament. Those winners were:
3rd Place- Team Brown with 10.71lbs, 2nd Place- Team Parish/ Killough with 17.53 lbs
1st Place Honors go to… Team Summers with a BIG 19.07 lb sack!
WBB- Leslie Killough with a 4.88 lb bass & MBB – Allen Summers with a 6.91 lb bass
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!
Note to everyone… Just follow the Summers on Lake Buchanan. They kill em’ every time out there! Way to go Team Summers!
The club members present voted on Lake Bastrop tournament times & weigh-in location as July 19th 6am -2pm weighing in at the North Shore Ramp. Remember that this will be a paper/photo tournament. Once the TD lets me know the secret item to be placed in the photo, I will let everyone else know! Take pictures of your bass on the check-it stick with the said item somewhere in the picture. Use the conversion chart to keep track of your fish and at weigh-in take your biggest 5 and mark them down. Make sure you have pictures of all your fish as well. A “Big Bass” will only be considered if it is over 21″, you will bring that fish to the weigh-in to be measured and weighed. Good Luck to all of you fishing the Lake Bastrop Tournament.
***Just a reminder that our August tournament will be a night tournament, August 16th on Lake Austin. ***
Members present at the meeting voted to have our September tournament at Lake LBJ (night tournament) on September 6th. We will vote on the times and weigh in location at the September 2nd meeting. And that folks, wraps up the tournament business! Now moving on to the last bit of the meeting…

Miss Emily Smith ended the meeting with the ever so great monthly raffle! Great job Emily.
