Mr. and Mrs. Bass Club of Austin June 2013 Newsletter
The sixth MMBC meeting of 2013 was held on June 4, 2013 at IHOP restaurant. In attendance were teams: Roberts, Gold, Trevino, Summers, Parish/Killough, Brown and Hubel/Smith.
President James Roberts welcomed all present teams and wished Teams Davis and Connell a Happy Anniversary and a Happy Birthday to Team Summers .
Treasurer Jerry Gold gave the Treasurer’s report.
Our tournament director Allen Summers then took the floor.
- The times for the Lake Stillhouse tournament were voted in for 5am-1pm with the Weigh-in at River’s Bend
- The date for the August tournament voted in was August 24th as a night tournament with Lake Austin voted on as the lake.
Old Business
- The members present discussed what to do if there is a weigh-in with no fish weighed in. Will members fishing get money back or receive points? At the next meeting we will discuss further and vote on adding a policy stating that in the event that there are no fish weighed in by any team at a tournament, 30 points will be awarded, however the tournament fees collected will be designated to the “Charity Fund” that the club votes on at either the October or November meetings.
- All Teams wanting to fish this years TABC tournament have made their reservations.
- Jerry Gold and Brent will pull together a sponsorship letter to send out so that we can try to get more sponsors for this year’s TABC Tournament. Entry fees of $400 per a team (4 boats = 1 team) If we send 3 teams that is $1200. Since the Mr. and Mrs. Bass Club sold the most raffle tickets last year we received $400 back from TABC so that will take care of an entry fee for 1 team.
New Business
- Sugein Sanchez has asked that the club vote in a new secretary since she will no longer be able to fill this role. Lesli Brown was asked by our President, James Roberts if she would like to take over as Secretary. Lesli accepted and the members present voted Lesli Brown in as Secretary.
- Team Brown will be collecting the tournament fees at the June 22nd Lake Stillhouse tournament. So if you are fishing please find team Brown at the weigh-in and hand over your wallet!
- President Roberts received a call from Cook Walden and they would like to sponsor our club for the TABC tournament and come to the next meeting to speak.
