January Newsletter
Happy New Year!! The Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their monthly meeting on January 5, 2016 at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Anderson, Connell, Davis, Huebel/Smith, Summers, Trevino, and Wilson.
For those that missed the meeting, here’s the recap: President Anderson wished Joe Connell a happy birthday on January 12th and Rosemarie Trevino a happy birthday on January 27th.
Jeff handed the meeting over to Elizabeth who gave the treasurer’s report. If you weren’t there and would like the info, email Ms. Anderson.
Tournament Director Jeff Huebel is stepping in for Rob Gast. We want to wish him and his family a speedy recovery. Jeff went over the results for our December 5th tournament on Stillhouse Hollow Lake. We had 6 teams participate. The results were: 1st place went to Team Anderson, with 11.70 lbs. 2nd place was Team Connell, with 2.51 lbs, and 3rd place was Team Davis, with 1.51 lbs. Men’s big bass went to Jeff Anderson weighing in at 3.28 lbs. There wasn’t a fish weighed in for women’s big bass this time.
Next up on the TD agenda: members voted to fish the January 23rd Bastrop tournament from 6:30am-3:00pm, with weigh in at Northshore. This will be a picture tournament and Jeff H. will email the item needed in the picture with the bass the night before the tournament.
*Our February tournament will be on the 20th at LBJ*
We had a vote to change how far out we vote in a lake. The changes following were made: We will vote the lake we fish, 1 month out and we will vote the tournament date 2 months out. The date for the March tournament will be March 5th.
Our spring 2 day tournament will be April 29th and May 1st on Sam Rayburn. Ms. Davis has rooms blocked under Mr & Mrs Bass Club of Austin, at the Bass Buster Inn. Please call and get a room put into your name as soon as possible.
If there is a particular lake you would like to fish for our fall 2 day tournament, please have lodging costs, dates the hotel/motel/cabins are avaliable, options for sharing rooms and if pets are allowed ready to present at our July 5th meeting.
There was no old business.
Moving along to new business. Please think about whether or not we want to continue our club membership with TABC. We will take a vote on this at our February meeting. Our annual club Christmas party will be on January 30th, at the Summers’. A huge thank you to them for having all of us over. The party will start at 6:00pm. It’s $40 a couple to help cover the cost of the catered BBQ, fixings, and drinks. Also, if you are wanting to participate in the White Elephant gift exchange, each person needs to bring a $25 wrapped gift.
Vice President Pete Trevino ended our meeting with a wonderful raffle!
Tight lines! Hope to see everyone at Bastrop!
