April 2015 Newsletter

The Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their April monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 7th at their new location at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Team Anderson, Baethge, Brown, Connell, Davis, Derks, Gast, Huebel/Smith, Parish/Killough, Summers and Trevino.
For those of you who missed the meeting, here is a recap:
President Anderson (Jeff) started the meeting off wishing a Happy Birthday to all our members that have April Birthdays. Those that were celebrated were: Pete Trevino (4/3) and Bryan Simpson (4/27). There were no anniversaries to celebrate this month.
Treasurer Cliff Davis handed out the monthly Treasurers report. Mr. Davis noted that our larger than normal balance is due to sponsorships that MMBC has received for TABC.
Our Tournament Director Allen Summers gave us a breakdown of the March 2-day Tournament on Lake Sam Rayburn. Six teams came out to East Texas to fish beautiful Sam Rayburn. The teams that attended were: Anderson, Brown, Connell, Davis, Gast and Trevino. The results were: 3rd place -Team Connell with 6.69 lbs., 2nd place- Team Brown with 16.18 lbs. and 1st place- Team Anderson with 21.46 lbs. Men’s big bass goes to Jeff Anderson with a 6.97 pounder and Women’s big bass goes to Marilyn Connell with a 1.92 pounder.
Next up on the TD agenda: The members present voted to fish the April 25th tournament on Lake Austin 6am-2pm. Weigh-in will be held at City Park (Emma Long).
The present members then voted on times and a weigh in location for the May 2nd tournament on Lake LBJ because it falls before our May meeting. The time will be 7am-3pm and the weigh-in location will be at McNair Park.
TD Summers finished by asking the members present for nominations for a date and lake for our June Tournament. Members present voted for June 27th at Inks Lake.
Next up on the agenda was old business. The members present were reminded that TABC dues should be paid to Cliff at the meeting.
New Business discussed was actually a continuation of a previous discussion about 2-day tournaments. It was decided that everyone has their own opinion on this topic and are encouraged to bring their ideas to present them to the members and be voted on.

As always, Vice President Pete Trevino ended the meeting with another great raffle!

Keep ’em tight and I will see you all at Lake Austin,
Elizabeth
