President Joe Connell welcomed the members and also one of our sponsors, Mr. Joe Gaines, from All Wireless Repair. An award was presented to Mr. Gaines and the members thanked him for his sponsorship.
An award and thanks were also given to Mr. Jared Hagaman from Double J. Services for his generous sponsorship.
Members also thanked those sponsors who were unable to join us for the evening: Kevin Leatherman from KRM Concrete and Construction John Hagaman from Max Muscle North Texas and Dan Murphy from Foundation Auto Repair.
A big thank you to Brenda Davis for putting together the beautiful awards for our sponsors
Joe also wished Happy Birthdays to Emily Smith, Judy Anderson, Sugein Sanchez, Leslie Killough, and James Roberts who all have December birthdays.
Secretary Marilyn Connell thanked Brenda Davis for recording and tabulating the weights at each club weigh-in during the past year! J
Treasurer Rosemarie Trevino gave the financial report to the club and collected money for the January 5 holiday party.
Tournament Director Jesse Sanchez announced the winners while Rosemarie presented the winning checks to those who took honors in the November 17 Lake LBJ Tournament and for the December 2 Lake Austin Tournament.
- The January Tournament will be a Paper/Photo tournament on Lake Fayette. Members chose the times of 7:00 am to 3:00 pm with a weigh-in at the Oak Thicket Ramp for Saturday, January 12.
- The club will fish Lake Dunlap on Saturday, February 9.
- We also chose a lake and date for the Spring Two Day Tournament. It will be held on April 6 and 7 on Lake O. H. Ivie. Club members can make reservations at Elm Creek and the phone number is (325) 357-4776. No reservations are being held by the club this time. Members should call themselves. They know we are coming. There are kitchenettes, motel rooms and RV spots. Elm Creek also has ramp permits, a café, tackle and some limited groceries. For best results you should phone in the daytime.
Old Business:
- Nominations for 2013 Officers were made. There was no opposition so no ballots were cast. Thanks to the following for volunteering to serve:
- President: James Roberts
- Vice-President: Emily Smith
- Secretary: Sugein Sanchez
- Treasurer: Jerry Gold
- Tournament Director: Allen Summers
- Webmaster: Brent Parish
- Photographer: Jeff Huebel
- Policy Changes:
- A discussion was held about the #19 under Tournaments which reads: A member may fish a club tournament alone but a team may only fish with a guest twice in a given year (being January through December of said year). Some discussion points were brought up and members voted to amend this point to read: A member may fish a club tournament alone but a team may only fish with a guest twice in a given year (being January through December of said year). Should such a guest subsequently join the club that guest will not count against the team’s allotment of fishing with non-members.
- Members also voted to add this to the club policies: #20 A two-day club tournament is limited to members of the club only or a member may fish alone.
- Club Meeting Location: The first Tuesday of January is New Year’s Day and IHOP is not available on the next two Tuesdays. Alternatives were discussed but the final decision was made that we hold the January meeting right before the club party. So the party will begin at 6:00 pm at the UT club.
- Party: Will be held on January 5 and each member is asked to bring a wrapped gift that could be enjoyed by either a man or a woman and should be a $20.00 value. We will have a “white elephant-type” gift exchange. The gift should be related to fishing or other club activities. Members were reminded to pay the cost of the party ($77.00 per couple) by submitting a check to Rosemarie Trevino made out to MMBC.
New Business: (There was no new business discussed)
Prize Drawing: Leslie Killough stepped in for Vice-President Lesli Brown, who could attend the meeting, and conducted the prize drawing. The Brown’s still own the steal token.
