Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their monthly meeting on May 3, 2016 at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Anderson, Connell, Davis, Gast, Huebel/Smith, Trevino, Summers, and Wilson.
President Anderson started out the meeting by wishing Connie (4th) a very happy birthday. Happy anniversary to the Trevinos! (5th)
Jeff then handed the meeting over to Elizabeth who gave the treasurer’s report. If you weren’t there and would like the info, get with Elizabeth.
Tournament Director Jeff Huebel announced results for our spring 2 day tournament that was held at Sam Rayburn on April 30th & May 1st. The weather was rough Saturday morning but 7 teams fished. Results were 3rd place was Team Heubel-Smith with 16.56 lbs. 2nd place was Team Anderson with 21.89 lbs. 1st place was Team Wilson with 30.41 lbs. Men’s big bass went to Steve with a 7.38 pound bass. Women’s big bass went to Laurie, who beat her personal best, with a 11.91 lbs beast. This bass also set the club record for heaviest bass weighed in.
Next on the TD agenda was voting on times, locations, and a date for upcoming tournaments. They are:
**May 21st Lake Travis tournament:
Time: 6:00am-2:00pm
Weigh in location: Cypress Creek Park
**June 4th Lake Belton tournament:
Time: 5:00am-2:00pm
Weigh in location: Temple Lake Park
New business:
We discussed options for a club championship. A motion was made to make the fall 2 day our club championship, with a $60 entry fee per couple, the motion was passed. We will vote on the location at next month’s meeting. Bring your lake/lodging information if you want a lake nominated.
Vice President Pete Trevino ended our meeting with another wonderful raffle!
