February 2015 Newsletter

The Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their February monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 3rd at the usual place (IHOP for those of you who do not know this)! Teams who attended were Teams Anderson, Brown, Connell, Davis, Derks, Gast, Huebel/Smith, Parish/Killough, Roberts, Simpson, Summers, Trevino, White and Wilson.

For those of you who missed the meeting here is a recap:

President Anderson (Jeff) started the meeting off by turning the floor over to our guest speaker, Mr. Ron Torrey, from Texas Association of Bass Club (TABC). Mr. Torrey gave us a wonderful breakdown of all that is going on with TABC and then opened the floor up for questions and suggestions.

Mr. Anderson then wished a Happy Birthday to himself (2/6), Robert Brown (2/9), Marilyn Connell (2/10) and Glen Derks (2/20). There were also a few anniversaries to celebrate. Happy Anniversary to the Seagroves (2/11), Huebel/Smith (2/16), Roberts (2/19) and Anderson (2/23).

Our Tournament Director Allen Summers took over and reviewed the results of the January 17th tournament on Fayette Lake. Nine teams participated in the tournament with 3rd place going to Team Davis with 11.71 lbs., 2nd place going to Team Summers with 13.29 and Team Anderson took 1st place with 13.35 lbs. Whew, that was a close one.

Next up on the TD agenda: The members present voted to fish the February 28th tournament on Stillhouse Hollow Lake from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Weigh In will be held at Union Grove. A reminder that our March tournament will be our annual Spring out of town tournament and will be held on Sam Rayburn March 28th and 29th. Rooms are reserved at the Bass Buster Inn. Next up TD Summers asked the members present for nominations for a date and location for our April Tournament. Members present settled on April 25th at Lake Austin.

Vice President Pete Trevino ended the meeting with another great raffle! Thank you Pete for always finding great items to raffle off.

Just a quick reminder that our March meeting will be held at Threadgills at 6416 North Lamar.

Hoping to see everyone with tight lines on Stillhouse,
Elizabeth
