LAKE: Inks
DATE: October 1, 2011
TIME: 7:00am – 3:00pm
WEIGH IN: State Park

After previously holding two night tournaments the Mr and Mrs Bass Club went back to fishing during the daylight hours on Inks Lake in Burnet Tx. The tournament was held October 1st and started at 7am. Weigh in was held at the state park at 3pm. Ten couples showed up to test their skills against the bass that call Inks Lake their home.  The team of Leslie Killough and Brent Parish topped the field with a five bass limit weighing 10.13 pounds. This is their fourth tournament win of the 2011 season and as a result they also lead the anger of the year points standings.  Brent Parish took men’s big bass honors with a 3.72 pounder narrowly edging out Jesse Martinez’s 3.42 pound largemouth. In second place with five bass weighing 7.49 pounds was team Summers.  Allen fishing with his son in law since Glenda could not make the tournament.  Rounding out the top three teams with four bass for 6.47 pounds was Marilyn and Joe Connell. Women’s big bass went to Marilyn with a 2.04 pound largemouth.  Congrats to everyone!  Next month we will be heading to Lake Austin. See you there!

LAKE: LBJ

The Mr and Mrs Bass Club held its second night tournament of the 2011 season on Lake LBJ with the full moon overhead.  The tournament started at 2am Saturday morning and ended Saturday morning at 10am.  Weigh in was held at the Cottonwood ramp.  It was good to see two new teams at this month’s tournament.  We welcome back to the club Alice and Luther Lentz.  Bob and Jane Bingle our newest addition to the Mr and Mrs Bass club also showed up to fish their first tournament of the year with us.  On this night the team of Leslie Killough and Brent Parish topped the field of eleven teams with a five bass limit weighing 16.97 pounds.  The Parish/Killough team has proven themselves to always be contenders when the club goes to Lake LBJ.  Brent Parish also took men’s big bass honors with a nice 5.81 pound lunker.  In second place with 11.08 pounds was Alice and Luther Lentz.  Rounding out the top three teams with 9.91 pounds was Robert Brown who’s wife Lesli wasn’t able to make the tournament which resulted in Robert fishing alone.  Women’s big bass went to Pat Gold for her 3.49 pound catch.   Next month we will be heading to Inks Lake.  See you there!

LAKE: Austin

The Mr and Mrs Bass Club held its first night tournament of the 2011 season on Lake Austin.  It was a marathon tournament which started at 10pm Saturday night and finally ended Sunday morning at 10am.  After rejoining the club last month, Gail and Larry Pederzani fished their fist MMBC tournament of the 2011 season and narrowly topped the field of twelve teams with a five bass limit of 13.97 pounds.  Larry also took men’s big bass honors with a 4.95 pound largemouth.  Women’s big bass went to Leslie Killough for her 4.12 pound catch.  Great job everyone.  Next month we will be heading to Lake LBJ.  See you there!

LAKE: Stillhouse Hollow
DATE: June 11, 2011

WEIGH IN: Rivers Bend Park

The Mr. and Mrs. Bass Club of Austin marked the middle of the 2011 season with a tournament on Lake Stillhouse Hollow. We started at 6:00am on Saturday June 11th and ended the day a noon due to the scorching heat we have been enduring across Texas this year. It seems that most of the anglers could have used some more time on the water since only one limit of bass was weighed in by the winners Glenda and Allen Summers. They managed to land over five Stillhouse Hollow keepers and their best five tipped the scale at 8.37 pounds. Allen caught a nice 2.79 pounder to anchor their winning sack of bass. In second place with only two fish was Leslie Killough and Brent Parish with their two fish weighing 4.13 pounds. Brent caught a 2.94 lb bass to take men’s big bass honors. In third place with two fish weighing 2.60 pounds was the team of Brenda and Cliff Davis. Brenda caught women’s big bass of the tournament which weighed 1.41 pounds. Next month we will be fishing on Lake Austin at night where our chances of landing some much larger bass are much greater. Although the grass is coming back nicely on Stillhouse the fishing just isn’t back to what it was a couple years ago.

LAKE: Choke Canyon
DATE: May 21, 2011
TIME: 6:30am – 3:00pm
WEIGH IN: South Shore Unit

The Mr. and Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held it’s fifth tournament of the 2011 season Saturday May 21st on Choke Canyon.  Eight teams participated in this event.   The team of Leslie Killough and Brent Parish topped the field of anglers with a nice 23.34 pound limit. Leslie also caught her new personal best and took woman’s big bass honors with a beautiful 8.42 pounder. Brenda and Cliff Davis placed second with another specular limit weighing 20.21 pounds which was anchored by the biggest bass weighed in that day, a 9.63 pounder caught by Cliff.  Third place went to the consistent team of Sugein and Jesse Sanchez with a limit weighing 15.20 pounds.  It was a good day on the water for all teams.  Next month the club sets its sights on Stillhouse Hollow which holds the opportunity for more over 20 pound sacks to be brought to the scales.

The Mr. and Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held it’s fourth tournament of the 2011 season Saturday April 30th on Lake Travis.  Nine teams participated and every team on the water that day brought fish to the scales.  Seven of the teams brought in five bass limits.  The team of Pat and Jerry Gold take all the honors with a first place finish and both the men’s and woman’s big bass awards.  Great job guys!
