Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their monthly meeting on November 1, 2016 at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Anderson, Davis, Trevino, Summers, and Wilson.

President Anderson started out the meeting with some thoughts and prayers for a few of our teammates. Brenda, Jeff and Pat, we all hope that you all are back to 100% very quickly. Happy birthday to Jeff H (9th) and Kadence (12th). Happy anniversay to the Gasts (27th).

Filling in for Tournament director Jeff, Laurie announced results for our October 2 day/ championship tournament that was held at Amistad. There were 3 teams that fished the tournament. Results were 3rd place was Team Summers with 10.23 lbs, 2nd place was Team Trevino with 10.40 lbs, and 1st place was Team Wilson with 12.72 lbs. Men’s big bass went to Steve with a 2.92 lbs bass. Rosemarie had women’s big bass with a 2.60.

Next on the TD agenda was voting on times, locations, and a date for upcoming tournaments. They are:

New business:
First new business on the table is our club Christmas party. It’s going to be January 7, 2017. The Summers have graciously offered to host it again. Thank you both!! We will decided at the December meeting if we want to do catered (and where from) or if we want to do fajitas, and everyone bring a side/dessert.

Next up is officer nominations for 2017 are as follows:

Secretary: Laurie W.
Treasurer: Marilyn C.
Any desired rule changes need to be brought to our December meeting to be voted on for the 2017 year.
We are going to take donations at the December meeting for Capital Area Food bank for those that would like to contribute.

Now that you all have had a chance for 2017 officers to sink in, I am only kidding on those nominations. The club voted to keep the same officers for 2017. Jeff, we will all pitch in and get the TD stuff done. Hope you are on the mend!!

President Anderson started out the meeting by wishing a happy anniversary to the Browns (11th) and a happy birthday to Wayne (8th) and Rob (26th).

Tournament director Jeff announced results for our September tournament that was held at Inks Lake. There were 3 teams that fished. Results were 3rd place was Team Smuebel with 3.26 lbs, 2nd place was Team Summers with 6.60 lbs, and 1st place was Team Davis with 8.37 lbs. Men’s big bass went to Jeff H. with a 2.13. Brenda had women’s big bass with a 2.13.Next on the TD agenda was voting on times, locations, and a date for upcoming tournaments. They are:

Lake passes are required for any launch point:

  • $4 for a 1-day pass. Good for 24 hours from time of purchase; they may be purchased for multiple days.
  • $10 for a 3-day pass. Good for 72 hours from time of purchase.
  • $40 for an annual pass. Good for 12 months from the month purchased.

Annual or daily lake use passes may be purchased at the Amistad Visitor Information Center (8a-4:30p)or at the automated vending machines located at Diablo East, Rough Canyon, or the Pecos River. When annual lake use passes are purchased at the automated machines, the receipt must be exchanged at the Visitor Information Center for a lake use pass sticker within 14 days of purchase or the receipt is invalid.

Mexican permits can also be obtained locally from:

  • Amistad Marine at 7348 US Hwy 90 W across from Spur 454, or by phone at 830-775-0878.
  • Three Rivers RV Park at 9670 US Hwy 90 W across from the Visitor Center, or by phone at 830-778-2241.

Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their monthly meeting on September 6, 2016 at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Anderson, Davis, Gast, Huebel/Smith, Summers,Trevino, and Wilson.

President Anderson started out the meeting by giving a huge congratulations to Jeff and Emily on their engagement! Happy birthday to Laurie on the 1st.

Tournament director Jeff announced results for our August tournament was held at Lake LBJ. There were 4 teams that fished the night tournament. Results were 1st place was Team Wilson with 16.02 lbs. Men’s big bass went to Steve with a 3.46. Laurie had women’s big bass with a 3.35. There were no other teams that brought in fish.

Next on the TD agenda was voting on times, locations, and a date for upcoming tournaments. They are:

New business:
We’ve got a couple tournaments coming up with an opportunity to take a soldier fishing. The first one is Fishing for Freedom, registration is October 7, 2016 at the Killeen Convention Center, with dinner provided. Tournament day is October 8th at Lake Belton (BLORA). Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their monthly meeting on August 2, 2016 at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Anderson, Davis, Gast, Huebel/Smith, Summers,Trevino, and Wilson.

President Anderson started out the meeting by wishing a happy anniversary to the Wilsons. (10th)

Jeff then handed the meeting over to Elizabeth who gave the treasurer’s report. If you weren’t there and would like the info, get with Elizabeth.
Tournament director Jeff  announced results for our July tournament on Lake Bastrop, 6 teams fished. It was hot and bites were few and far between. Results were 3rd place was Team Huebel-Smith with 3.46 lbs. 2nd place was Team Davis with 6.02 lbs. 1st place was Team Wilson with 8.19 lbs. No men’s/women’s big bass were brought in over the slot limit.

Next on the TD agenda was voting on times, locations, and a date for upcoming tournaments. They are:

Members coming back- to move or not to move? We decided to stay put at Threadgill’s.

Staying at Amistad Resort was brought up. Some teams are now moving to River Street Rentals, and some are staying put at Amistad Resort. The price for RSR is $40 a person, $80 a couple and they accept cash or check only.

Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their monthly meeting on July 5, 2016 at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Davis, Huebel/Smith, Trevino, and Wilson.

Vice President Trevino started out the meeting by handing it over to tournament director Jeff since there weren‘t any birthdays or anniversaries. He announced results for our June tournament on Lake Buchanan, 5 teams fished. Results were 3rd place was Team Davis with 3.65 lbs. 2nd place was Team Trevino with 4.49 lbs. 1st place was Team Summers with 7.98 lbs. Men’s big bass went to Pete with a 1.90 lbs bass. Women’s big bass went to Brenda with a 1.29 lbs bass.

Next on the TD agenda was voting on times, locations, and a date for upcoming tournaments. They are:

Mr. & Mrs. Bass Club of Austin held their monthly meeting on June 7, 2016 at Threadgill’s on North Lamar. Teams who attended were Anderson, Davis, Gast, Huebel/Smith, Trevino, Summers, and Wilson.

President Anderson started out the meeting by wishing a happy birthday to Glenda (12th) and Allen! (28th) Wishing a happy anniversary to the Connels (2nd) and Davis! (4th)

Jeff then handed the meeting over to Elizabeth who gave the treasurer’s report. If you weren’t there and would like the info, get with Elizabeth.

Emily filled in for tournament director Jeff (Hope you’re feeling better quickly Jeff) and announced results for our May tournament on Lake Travis. 5 teams came out and fished. Results were 3rd place was Team Anderson with 3.18 lbs. 2nd place was Team Huebel-Smith with 6.69 lbs. 1st place was Team Summers with 9.39 lbs. Men’s big bass went to Jeff H. with a 2.02 lbs bass. Women’s big bass went to Glenda with a 3.24 lbs bass.
